We’re thrilled to announce that Port City Java’s 30th Anniversary celebration will begin on March 1st, 2025! This year-long celebration is our way of honoring the incredible journey we've had over the past three decades. We’ll be rolling out special promotions, nostalgic throwbacks, new merchandise, and exciting events to celebrate 30 years of history and hospitality, as well as the future we’re building.
2025 is a milestone year for us, and we can’t wait to celebrate with our dedicated team, loyal guests, and the entire Port City Java family. This anniversary is not just a look back at where we’ve come from but a celebration of everything we’ve achieved together. We’re committed to continuing our legacy of delivering exceptional coffee and fostering community connections. Here’s to many more years of serving you!

1996: Our first roaster was purchased, and we began roasting our own coffee beans every day.
2000: Our original downtown location became so popular that the business outgrew the small space it occupied. We moved it three doors down to its current location on Front Street.

2003: We began purchasing Fair Trade beans, which allowed us to start using the Fair Trade logo. In addition, we also had a second roastery certified by the USDA to process and distribute organic coffee beans. Since then, our guests have enjoyed our Fair Trade and Organic lines of coffees, which are available at every Port City Java.
2004: We sold our 1,000,000th cup of coffee!

2005: In a freak accident, our Market St Café burns to the ground, and no one is injured!! 13 months to the day later, it re-opens for business!
2008: We are named #31 out of the top 50 New Franchises in America according to Entreprenuer magazine

2010: Port City Java is awarded the NC Governors Award for Volunteer Service in the Corporate Category
